Alessandra Scognamiglio

A licensed architect, Alessandra Scognamiglio did a Master’s Degree in Architecture at the University of Naples before completing a PhD in Technologies for Architecture and the Environment at the University of Campania. Since 2000, she has been a researcher in ENEA’s Energy Technologies and Renewable Sources Department, where she works on the use of photovoltaics in buildings and the landscape.  

Scognamiglio was recently appointed coordinator of ENEA’s new Sustainable Agrivoltaics Taskforce, which supports the establishment of a national sustainable agrivoltaics network with members from institutions, professional associations, academia and the business world.  

Scognamiglio’s own research work focuses on the adoption of trans-disciplinary perspectives which become innovative cognitive frameworks capable of creating new design visions for photovoltaics.  

The author of over 100 published articles and the holder of several patents, Scognamiglio has been a topic organizer for the Photovoltaics and Integration into Buildings and the Landscape topic for the European Photovoltaics Conference. She is also the founder and president of the annual “Photovoltaics Forms Landscapes” event, which this year celebrates its 10th edition.
